Reviews
On this occasion, due to the fact that we were in a rush to catch our flight after dinner, we had an ask to shorten the dining time. The front of house was extremely helpful, and partnered with the kitchen crew to accommodate seamlessly, which was impressive. We had high expectations coming into the meal as this restaurant came highly recommended by multiple friends. Flavours of some dishes were not as cohesive at times, in terms of how the flavours blended together, but appreciate the efforts to be adventurous and creative with the dishes. Would want to return in the future to try a different menu
Truly unforgettable experience, went there with family for celebration. Personally loved the sourdough bread (best in hk) and pork taco the most. The staff made us feel very welcomed. Overall 10/10 would definitely recommend :))
Mono continues to be one of the most thoughtful and quietly extraordinary dining experiences in Hong Kong. Every course feels precise yet deeply soulful. The flavors are layered and expressive without ever feeling overworked. The bread service alone sets the tone, warm, fragrant, and presented with intention. From the beautifully cooked fish with its vibrant sauce to the perfectly executed beef course, each dish balances technical mastery with genuine warmth. The sauces deserve special mention. They are rich, nuanced, and often poured tableside, adding both theatre and depth. Desserts are elegant and restrained, never overly sweet, just perfectly calibrated. Sitting at the counter adds another dimension. You feel the choreography of the kitchen, calm and exacting. Service is polished but natural, knowledgeable without being rehearsed. Mono manages to feel contemporary while remaining timeless. It is fine dining that feels personal, not performative. Easily one of the most compelling tasting menus in the city.
I have to share how much I enjoyed celebrating my birthday at this restaurant yesterday. We had a wonderful experience and were thoroughly impressed by the set menu. Each dish was exceptionally well-plated, but the langoustine and the pigeon were absolute standouts. The sauce served with the langoustine was incredible and paired perfectly with your excellent sourdough bread. Additionally, the pigeon was prepared to perfection. Beyond the food, the service was truly remarkable. The staff was attentive and provided a lovely touch by guiding us through the presentation and thought process behind each course. This level of detail made the evening very special. Thank you for a memorable birthday dinner. I look forward to visiting again soon.
Having not been back at Mono since it first opened, I was so pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable my lunch experience was. The lunch menu was incredibly balanced with very interesting yet delicious dishes, I left feeling pleasantly full. I loved how every course had a story. The service was impeccable and Joe took such great care of us. Friendly, welcoming and knowledgable, it made the experience even more memorable. Can’t wait to come back for dinner!
