It is recommended that you avoid the lunchtime crunch where there will be a horde of a line. Don’t confuse Maxim’s Palace with the pricier Maxim’s Restaurant downstairs.
One of the best banquet venues in Hong Kong, City Hall Maxim’s Palace headlines the Maxim Group’s Cantonese cuisine lineup. It is situated near Victoria Harbour. The inside features enormous crystal chandeliers, floor to ceiling views of Victoria Harbour, and red and gold decors which highlights this truly high class venue.
Their menu offers dim sum parading around the restaurant in trolleys from 11am-4pm from Monday to Saturday and from 9am-4pm on Sundays. For dinner, try the Prawn in Egg White Custard. Expect to pay about HK$25-HK$50 per dim sum plate.
You can admire the architecture of government buildings around the area such as Bank of China and the University of Hong Kong after your meal.
