Description

Ashley J (“memorytxture”, she/her) is a multimedia artist and cultural translator based in Hong Kong who offers immersive portrait photoshoots paired with vivid storytelling. Since March 2024, she has worked with over 350 clients from more than 50 countries, earning a 100% five-star rating.

There are two options to tailor your experience:

  • Omakase (Photographer's Decision): Ashley selects the meet-up location and photography style after meeting you. Best for those open to spontaneous new experiences.
  • Tailored (Your Decision): Customize your route and photography style based on your interests—whether Instagram spots, street food, urban exploration, hiking, or art. Choose film types and styles including natural, stylish, black and white, color, daytime, nighttime, 120mm, or 135mm.

Ashley is fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and conversational Japanese. She has lived in Hong Kong since she was 17 and is deeply knowledgeable about the city’s heritage, from street food to festivals and cultural traditions. Her wide-ranging interests include literature, film, urban farming, bouldering, art galleries, architecture, education, and language learning.

She emphasizes creating a relaxed atmosphere during the photoshoot, valuing both the experience and the final images. Ashley has made friends worldwide through photography and welcomes new clients warmly.

Important Notes

  • Flexible timing available—from 30 minutes up to several days, accommodating tight schedules.
  • Film photography is included in the service cost, offering distinct color and texture especially suited for Hong Kong’s night scenes such as neon lights and markets.
  • Edited digital photos will be delivered via download link within 3-5 days. Film negatives are available for pick-up at no extra charge as a unique keepsake.
  • Photoshoots cannot proceed during heavy rain. Options include rescheduling, shortening the session, switching to indoor photography, or cancellation.
