Tung Wan Beach
Hongkong
Amidst being hit by Typhoon Hagupit in September 2008, Tung Wan Beach in Cheung Chau Island continues to strive and remains a favorite relaxation spot by residents. Popular for its fine sand, Cheung Chau’s beach area is small and there is nothing amazing about its water. However, tourists and locals support it because it’s a private area where the ambience can clear your head of stress.
At one end of the beach, there are affordable apartments. At the other end is the Warwick Hotel. The beach has facilities to suit your needs such as changing rooms, showers, toilets, and raft. For those who enjoys something to munch on while enjoying the wind at the beach, there are restaurants and coffee shops in the area.
Other interesting sites to visit are the Pak Tai Temple and Cheung Po Tsai Cave which are both walking distance from the beach. Also, strolling along the Tung Wan Beach, you’ll pass by ancient carved rocks which are great spots for photo-ops. Lastly, the Chi Ma viewing point will let you enjoy the view of Tung Wan Beach.
