Happy Garden
Hongkong
This hole-in-the-wall is surprisingly spacious for a noodle joint, and has solid food, and A/C, very important in the Hong Kong summer heat! Cash only!
The ambience here is a mix of Hong Kong ghetto and Japanese, with funky lighting and a rather large floor space. Expect your own table, yet hurried, somewhat inconsiderate service (you get what you pay for) and rock bottom prices.
Their noodles with beef or fish balls are quite good, and add a few dollars for a side of veggies. For another few dollars you can add a drink, and their milk tea is quite good here.
They also serve rice dishes, and simple appetizers as well, but most locals stick to the noodles.
