A very hard place to find, She Wong Yee provides a taste of the exotic with its specialty, the snake soup. The best time to round the snakes up to make some soup is right before winter. Made up of at least three types of snake, snake soup is flavoured with mushrooms and chicken. This restaurant seems to peak at winter time, serving around 1,200 bowls a day.
She Wong Yee has a snake soup set meal in their menu, which includes snake soup topped with your choice of chrysanthemum flower petals, fried crackers, and lemon grass, one cup of rice paired with two choices of barbecued or roast meat (roast or barbecued pork, pork sausage or crispy duck liver sausage), and a plate of lettuce topped with oyster sauce. All of that for under HK$100.
After your meal, you can go for a stroll through nearby Victoria Park.
