Hong Kong may not be known for world-class beaches, but that shouldn't deter you from enjoying what's here. Hong Kong beaches are coved by soaring mountains, meaning calm tides that are ideal for a safe, relaxing swim.
While water quality in some areas has suffered as a result of urbanisation, the beaches here are managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department to ensure they are always suitable for swimming. If the heat and bustle of the city becomes too much, escape to the beaches of the outlying islands. Always apply sun cream, and, for the naturists amongst you, please note that it is prohibited to swim nude on all Hong Kong beaches!
