Highly recommended to get a table here! You can sit on the long shared booth lining the wall, while some will have to stand on the other side of the table. A good place to put your stuff down and get some space, as it can be elbow-to-elbow on the dance floor.
Up the stairs and to the right from LKF on Wyndham Street is Solas, which is a great place to start off the night. Drinks are reasonable, and there is no entrance fee! A perfect warm-up for an epic night out in LKF.
Solas is seductive, sultry, and sexy, with dimmed lighting replaced by hushed red lamps. The circular bar is the highlight here, and everyone seems to think so, as it is quite busy. Their full menu divided by texture (fizzy or still), taste (heavy or light) and timing (fast – shots, slow – classics). Drinks range from classics such as Long Island Ice Tea, to exotic mixtures like their Mango Coriander Margarita.
They have a fairly small but rockin’ dance floor, which is always put to good use. Beats vary here, with some nights being dedicated to special events, private parties, or special DJs. Weekends, expect a mixture of half hip hop and pop, half trance and techno.
For some reason, they only have 1 toilet for boys and girls, respectively. The queue can be quite long, so plan accordingly!
