Being the largest among all museums, Hong Kong Heritage Museum features 6 permanent galleries and 6 thematic galleries. The permanent galleries are divided into the following sections: New Territories Heritage Hall, Children's Discovery Gallery, Cantonese Opera Heritage Hall, Tsim Sha Tsui Gallery of Chinese Art, and Chao Shao-an Gallery.
The New Territories Heritage Hall highlights the history of the New Territories, and its transition from being rural to a city. The Children's Discovery Gallery is particularly interesting for kids because it features a potted history of local toys.
There is also a section that holds a theatre which features various types of performing arts and other interactive and comprehensive programs organized by the museum. Truly, visiting the museum is entertaining and educational at the same time.
