While Maxim’s is a well-known chain in Hong Kong, which always brings reliable food, this Maxim’s Palace location definitely sits above the average. It’s the perfect spot to bring visiting friends or expats for an authentic dim sum experience. Yet the place is presentable and more approachable for those not used to grassroots places. Love that they still have the old-fashion dim sum carts — a rare find these days.
2026.4.5 Easter Sunday No reservations is permitted. We arrived here before the 9am opening hour and managed to get a seat easily. Not my first time here and not the last. I really love the dim sum here. The siew mai is juicy and fresh. Fried spring roll is crunchy (not oily) and excellent moist filling. The beancurd roll is the best I ever had. There is hardly any dishes we don’t like! Selection is very wide. They push their dim sum in carts. U can point to what you want. I will want to come here for my dim sum everytime I visit HK. Just soooooooo good.
Waited up to an hour for a seat. The dimsum was worth the wait. Best dimsum in HK. The steamed chicken with fish maw was delicious. The interior and the view were stunning too. It’s nice they still use the traditional push cart to go around the restaurant selling dimsum.
Exceptional yum cha. The quality was outstanding—easily some of the best I’ve had, and I was thoroughly impressed. Service was very Hong Kong–style: efficient, no-nonsense, yet genuinely polite. A special mention to the lady managing the lunch queue on Monday. Despite the restaurant not taking lunch bookings (and a mix-up with our hotel concierge booking a different Maxim’s location), we had to wait for a table. She was understanding, sympathetic, and handled the busy service with professionalism and grace.
