Reviews
I’ve visited The Upper House many times over the years, and it continues to be one of my favorite hotels in Hong Kong. The team arranged an early check-in for my morning arrival, welcomed me with thoughtful amenities, and many staff members still remembered me from previous stays. When they learned I was traveling with my baby, they even surprised us with an adorable baby outfit—a small gesture that meant a lot. The rooms are timeless, peaceful, and beautifully designed, with one of the best hotel bathrooms in Hong Kong. Sunday brunch and breakfast were excellent, and the 49th-floor lounge is a wonderful space for meetings or simply relaxing. The only minor downside is the relatively small gym, although guests can also use the fitness facilities at the neighboring Conrad. Exceptional service, understated elegance, and genuine hospitality. I can’t wait to return.
Understated luxury as its best.Less is more philosophy beautifully executed.Serviceis top notch without being intrusive. Excellent maintenance and great materials. Love the water filter set up in the room to avoid plastic. The matress and bed linen are superb, making hard to want to move somewhere else. 100% recommendable ,one of the best hotels in the world
What a wonderful experience here. Had a solo lunch and it was gorgeous. The staff were so great and so kind. I didn’t want dessert but the waiter offered me some chocolates as something lighter. So kind and thoughtful. Great view of the harbour too. Mint tea delish and real mint leaves. Ambience is so calm and relaxing I really love it here! I only came for lunch I didn’t stay in the hotel but I reckon it’s pretty nice. Will bring my girlfriends for lunch sometime!
The Upper House truly exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, everything felt different to what we are used to. Instead of a traditional check-in, we were taken straight to our room and welcomed there. It may seem like a small detail, but it immediately sets the tone and makes the whole arrival feel personal. The Upper House is designed by André Fu, and you can feel it throughout. Every detail has intention and nothing feels out of place. The room is beautiful, and the views over Victoria Harbour are exceptional. We kept catching ourselves just standing by the window. More of a coming home to your residence-feel rather than coming back to a hotel room. We had both breakfast and dinner at Salisterra and were impressed both times. The food is high quality and thoughtfully put together. The chefs do an amazing job. One evening, we had drinks at the Green Room The Upper House, which quickly became one of our favourite spots. It has a very relaxed atmosphere, and the Dirty Martini was excellent!! The wellness offering is also worth mentioning. Rather than wellness it's a more considered approach to wellbeing. We tried the 10x Longevity experience, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, infrared sauna and red light therapy, and left feeling genuinely different rather than just relaxed - which was amazing to continue exploring the city! A hotel we would return to without hesitation!!
I thought the Mandarin Oriental, the Four Seasons, or the Peninsula were good, but the Upper House is in my opinion a step above. The rooms are not only generous in size, they are gorgeous, especially the bathrooms. Wow. The layout is logical and atypical, i.e., not boring. I loved the restaurant on the top floor and the library on the same floor was super enticing. The gym is small but absolutely perfect for me. I cannot believe it has taken me so long to find a 'go-to' hotel in HK. There are many other five-star hotels but I now think this is the most spectacular of them all. (28 years ago, I lived in a nice service apartment for a couple of years, which became the Upper House Hotel... When I mentioned to the reservation desk that my apartment was on the 46th floor, they gave me a nice room on that floor!!)
