Friday dinner is always our night out trying new restaurants! Since, we would like to find a place in Western Central area. Therefore, we have chosen Reveri this time! Since, we were not very hungry, so we picked the 5 course tasting menu. Coz I don't eat beef at all, thus my honey had ordered seafood instead of meat for sharing together. Like all other commentators said, the Truffle brioche was stunning! The uni pasta had also impressed me a lot. The place is small, so a reservation is recommended.
The truffle brioche is defo the mvp! The texture is complex, the taste is delicate, so cheesy and fluffy, can’t take my breath away from it.
Returning Reveri for dinner, where the quality remains well. The space is cozy, and the thoughtful plating and curated tableware always elevate the dining experience. The tasting menu (💰HK$888 p.p.) began with refreshing appetizers, but the 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐞 is still a personal standout. The real highlights of the night, however, were the 𝐇𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐲𝐞—perfectly charred and tender—and the 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐞, which delivered a beautiful balance of umami and a subtle, sophisticated spiciness. For dessert, I like the 𝐏𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 slightly more than the 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐥 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐏𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠. Inspired by panna cotta, it was a bright, textured finish to a refined evening.
Very poor quality for price. Went for Valentine’s Day last year, and had their set menu. The primary issue was unfortunately the food - while plated very nicely (I’m sure you’re here because you’ve seen the pics on ig) every single dish tasted mediocre at best, and just did not warrant the premium prices being charged. Their shrimp and tuna appetizer looked great, but was lacking in any depth of flavor or complexity. The beef Wellington was beautiful on camera, but the beef tasted like nothing (literally could not taste any beefiness) and the pastry was soggy. It’s been a while, but the whole menu was either stuff we’ve seen before, or just a total letdown in terms of taste. It was a real shame, but it seemed like all effort had been placed in appearances and ig worthiness, rather than in perfecting how the food actually tasted. I think Western food is really hit or miss in Hong Kong, and if all you’re looking for is nice looking plating and the ability to show off dining at an expensive restaurant, this might be okay, but if you’re looking for something actually special or interesting or even just good tasting food, I’d stay well clear. At more than 1.5k hkd per head, we’re pushing the Michelin one-star price range, but for much worse. Save yourself the money and go somewhere that has earned the high price tag instead.
We went during Saturday lunch and we were the only table at the restaurant. We ordered different sets (1 tasting menu and 1 set lunch) because they were very flexible! The service was great and we enjoyed the food. Highly recommend the truffle brioche, one of their permanent menu items. Also really enjoyed all the seasonable appetisers including the shrimp appetizer with jelly. The uni pasta was amazing and sansho chicken rice was pretty interesting since jalapeños gave it an added spicy flavor. Chocolate mousse was very rich!
