ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan
Hong Kong
Recenzje
We booked this hotel based on its decent rating and attractive rates, but after a three-night stay, I would not return until it undergoes a renovation. Stepping out of the lift on our floor, we were immediately met with a moldy smell. The room itself was a decent size for the price, easily fitting two open suitcases. However, the overall space felt old, worn out, and somewhat dirty. While the desk, wash basin, shower, and bed were clean, other surfaces had visible dust and stains. One of the bedside tables was completely removed. The aircon is very loud and it would likely disturb a light sleeper. Adding to the disappointment, our room had yellow-tinted glass windows. I later checked the reviews and found that many rooms feature these colored windows, which completely ruin the view. On the positive side, service was responsive. After room cleaning on the second day, the floor did not look vacuumed. We called to request vacuuming along with a dehumidifier, and staff provided both without hesitation. In fact, all the staff members we encountered were helpful throughout our stay. The drinking water dispenser is located in the 5th-floor lobby, which was convenient enough for us. The bathroom provides only a 2-in-1 shower gel and shampoo without conditioner, though the quality was not bad; it didn't lather excessively and wasn't drying. Location is quite convenient, sitting roughly a six-minute walk from Sheung Wan MTR station with plenty of small eateries along the way. The building downstairs also houses a Starbucks, a café, and a Chinese restaurant.
Good location near ding ding tram but quiet. Recommend getting a room with harbour view as it was a highlight of our trip. Breakfast was average. Overall good value for money in Hong Kong in a nice and interesting district. Being closer to central would be more convenient, but obviously more expensive.
Thank goodness for the Aircon! I stayed at the end of May 26. A comfortable room with Aircon/heating. The shower was nice & powerful and the bed was comfy. Its about a 20min walk from Hong Kong train station. If you're a smoker, theres a smoking bin outside the HSBC about a minute walk to the left of the hotel entrance 😉 There's also a convenient 7-Eleven about a minute walk away too 👍
Stayed here for 4 nights and had a pleasant experience. The location was very convenient with easy access to public transport, restaurants, and nearby attractions. The room was clean and comfortable, although a bit compact, which is common in Hong Kong hotels. Staff were friendly and check-in was quick. Harbour views were beautiful, especially at night. Good value for money and I would stay here again.
I had a fantastic stay at the ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan! The location is absolutely unbeatable for exploring the city. There’s a tram stop right outside the front door, and it’s just a short walk to both the Sheung Wan MTR station and the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal, making transportation a breeze. It’s also very close to the great restaurants and bars in SOHO. The room, while typical for Hong Kong in terms of size, was incredibly well-designed, functional, and spotlessly clean. If you can, I highly recommend booking a harbour view room—the views of Victoria Harbour are stunning! The blackout curtains and soundproofing were much appreciated and ensured a great night's sleep in the middle of a bustling city. The staff were polite, and the check-in and check-out process was super fast and efficient. The elevators are remarkably quick, which is a big plus in a high-rise hotel. Having a Starbucks right on the ground floor is incredibly convenient for a quick morning coffee, and there are plenty of local dining options right around the corner. Overall, it’s a modern, comfortable, and highly convenient hotel that offers excellent value for money. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Hong Kong! The breakfast buffet had lots of great options and was a perfect way to start the day.
