I cant express how much hospitality I’ve experienced in JEN. The front desk, breakfast staff, and cleaning lady greeted with enthusiasm and friendliness everyday. Every ask from me was dealt promptly by everyone in the hotel. For example, I received free clipping nail within 5 minutes I asked for it. Everything in the hotel is clean and well maintained. They have a great pool. Definitely recommend everyone to stay here to feel like home.
Unfortunately, my stay at the Jen was rather mediocre. My room looked nothing like the pictures; it was probably one of the older rooms, so it wasn't very modern, was dated, and slightly musty. The gym and pool were closed. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was okay. The hotel's location is alright. It wasn't terrible, but I probably wouldn't stay here again.
No water. No advance notice. Fortunately they agreed to move us to a room with running water on day 2. The newly refurbished room on a higher floor is well designed with thoughtful use of space and practical amenities such as a good quality hair dryer and clothing steamer, blackout curtains and separate toilet and shower areas. The refurbishment will be completed in 2027. ASK for a high floor. Gilbert at the concierge deserves a special shoutout. Great cafes nearby.
My wife and I come to HK nearly every year, and this is our go to hotel. Nicely appointed rooms and a proper dining room, and MTR station 30 seconds walk away. There is plenty of shopping in the area, but if you like high end shopping or browsing, you will need to go to other places like Central or Wan Chai. We actually like the slightly quieter pace of local life around Hotel Jen. Staff are very good and helpful. We always enjoy our annual stay here.
Like many modern luxury hotels in Asia the lobby or reception of JEN was also found on higher floors (one ride up the escalator) to separate the hotel environment from the busy street level. Check in went smoothly with just a quick wait. There was one huge seating area at the lobby for guests. As a party of 10 we had priorly booked for 4 rooms. But upon receiving our key cards it was 5 rooms in total (one free of charge). The rooms were clean and no qualms with the amenities provided as I also brought what I needed. Having no adapter or converter required at US/Canada hotels, we thought it was the same. But no, the guy at the reception was kind enough to lend me one even without a credit card on hold (booking was paid weeks before leaving Manila). For a four-star hotel, it was not congested or chaotic after the Christmas season. A minute walk to HKU Station was also convenient to get around places. Check out was a breeze as well. All in all we had a lovely short stay. Hope this keeps up.
