OZONE on the 118th floor of the ICC offers one of Hong Kong’s most dramatic views, but it’s very much a view-first experience rather than a cocktail-first one. Drinks are competently made but fairly generic, with cocktails in the HKD 200 range that taste fine but don’t feel special for the price. Food is limited to upscale bar snacks; the truffle chips and similar items are acceptable but unremarkable. Indoors, one cocktail effectively meets an informal minimum spend of around HKD 200 per person, while the outdoor terrace and best window seats typically carry a HKD 500 per person minimum. Early evening on weekdays can feel like a sophisticated lounge, but on Friday and Saturday nights the music becomes extremely loud and the vibe shifts toward a club, making conversation difficult. If you’re after the “highest bar in the world” photo op and don’t mind paying a premium for the setting, OZONE is worth a visit, ideally around sunset on a weekday. If you prioritise exceptional cocktails, relaxed conversation, or value for money, you may find it overpriced and too club-like on weekends.
Probably the best rooftop bar in Hong Kong. Located on the 118th floor, you get to see the most stunning view of the harbour. What's more, the service, the food and beverage, the vibe are impeccable. We went there last night to see the live performance of a talented artist, Victor Escobal, who has been quite popular lately with his outstanding performance in a local TV singing contest. Together with the DJ, the saxophone player, Victor got everyone up onto the dance floor. People made the place, and you have to appreciate the Ritz standard of service. Special thanks to Adam and his team. With a small incident of system malfunction last night, the team gave everyone a round of free sparkling. Adam, the Guest Experience Manager actually cheered everyone there with his enthusiasm and friendly service. It was a full house yesterday and we couldn't wait to go back with another live performance there.
What is happening here Ritz Carlton Corporation? This bar fell VERY short for me, and my two out of town guests. I have travelled to, and stayed at countless Ritz hotels globally, and this bar is not up to Ritz standards-full stop. Granted the view is spectacular, and worth the trip alone, but the decor can only described as “cheesy”, with fake plastic plants and hanging vines, similar to what you would see at a Disney themed restaurant, “Rainforest Cafe”. The space itself is outdated, and is very tired looking, evident from the scuffed and unpainted walls, and not properly caulked floor tiles (see attached pictures). Maintenance is clearly not doing their job, or don’t have budget to fix eyesores. Service staff is slow, and not on point, mixing up our “flat” cocktail order, and forgetting parts of our food order, which was just “meh”. Honestly the men’s bathroom is the only thing there up to Ritz standards, but I didn’t come here to spend my time at the toilet. Also, most notably, there is a dress code, clearly stating online collared shirts and pants for men, and no athletic wear. All of which I saw, including shorts and T-shirts. If you have a dress code on your online reservation system, what is the point of noting it, if it is not enforced? Unfortunately this establishment falls under the, “one and done” category for me. Hats off to Jimena Moore, a cheerful and pleasant intern greeter in the lobby, who tried her best to “soft shoe” the very disappointing experience. Surely Ritz you can do WAY better than this, given countless other options in Hong Kong. You HAVE to, if you want to rely on your name. Thankfully for you, you have the view, as there is really nothing else that would beckon me back-which I won’t be. Clearly there is some disconnect here that management is dropping the ball on. The two stars represent one for the view, and the other for the bathroom. You need to pay much closer attention to detail to get more of them.
I absolutely love staying at the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong; it's always a real treat! You'll absolutely love the rooms! They're amazing, with incredible quality and comfort. As someone who travels to Hong Kong for work quite often, I can tell you that the hotel provides an excellent working environment. I was so pleased to find that the chair and table in my room were the most comfortable I'd ever come across in a hotel, and I didn't even have to make a special request. After a long day of work, I enjoyed unwinding at the Ozone bar, which offers stunning views of the city from its rooftop location, 490 meters above sea level. The creative cocktails and friendly atmosphere made for a wonderful experience, and I was impressed by the professionalism of the team. I'd like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the super-talented mixologists, Jay, Eric, and Eldwin, who crafted delicious cocktails that were absolutely stunning and absolutely perfect in every way. What's more, my special requests for cocktails off the list (e.g., I am Goodwin, Good Wife, or just White Negroni) were crafted to perfection and to my taste I can't wait for my next trip to the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong! I'm so excited to spend another amazing evening at the Ozone bar.
Great view from the outdoor counter top seating. Incredible to see everything at that height especially at sunset. The drinks were creative and still tasted excellent. Was worried that it was all show but they were well made drinks. The food was good but nothing special. The outdoor seating with the premium view had a 500HKD per person minimum which is easily hit with a couple drinks and snacks. Worth a try.
