Chuen Kee Seafood Restaurant

TOURIST TRAP⚠️見字速逃 Horrible dining experience. We ordered a set for four ($298/pax after service charge) which allowed us to pick 5 dishes from the list. The set also came with seasonal vegetables and dessert/fruits. The scallops were served with shells but guess what? It’s FREAKING FROZEN SCALLOPS!! Tasted exactly the same like the ones we buy from supermarket and the shell was completely detached from the scallop itself. How outrageous… The lobster and cuttlefish were not fresh. Vegetables had a weird bitter aftertaste. The service was nice, they treat us both orange slices and red bean paste soup. No local people were dining here. Honestly, if you would like to have a better seafood dining experience, just go to any Chinese restaurant (酒樓 in cantonese). Eg. 海港 is a reasonably-priced chain located in different parts of HK. I’m never coming to Chuen Kee again.👎🏼 致老闆:明白市道唔好,但你地都好用心做先得架,唔怪得個個北上消費啦!
Lively atmosphere, spacious dining area. Seafood is fresh and tasty. Service is good and price reasonable.
food was delicious, easy access and price is fair in the regarding the tourism region. I would recommend if you want some authentic sea food and Cantonese cuisine in this region.
The three dishes were really good and not expensive. Service good and waterfront views provide great lunch ambiance. Parking is always a challenge in Sai Kung though.
Fresh seafood market with seating inside and outside. Seafood is super fresh - they're still alive in tanks when you order. You can choose to point and select the seafood yourself and have it prepared in the restaurant. Pricing is extravagant, but you're paying for the experience and for the fresh seafood in the tanks. The view is pretty good as well, as if you're sitting in one of the outdoor tables you have a clear view of the harbour and the ocean. I would bring locals for people who know how to order otherwise you may end up getting upsold on things that you are not aware of. Tourists need to be cautious as the staff doesn't speak fluent English, and what you order might not be exactly what you expect when it arrives at your table.
