They serve really good dim sum that’s fresh, handmade, and in large portions. Staff were friendly too :-)
Food is amazing, staff is really friendly explaining what they bring you and how to use sauces. The place is big enough for groups ! Really nicest staff around fortress hill. Would have love to post more photos but you know … we ate everything straight
The food was amazing and so fresh! The Asian cuisine was simple and really well done. Ordering was pretty straightforward for me as a Westerner, and the servers were so polite and welcoming – they really tried their best to understand. A great experience!
5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just had an amazing yum cha session at 滋味點 (Zi Wei Dim Sum) on Mercury Street in Tin Hau, and I have to say — this place is a fantastic hidden gem for authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum! We ordered a huge spread, and almost everything came piping hot straight from the steamer because they prepare and steam each basket fresh upon ordering (no pre-made or reheated items sitting around). That really makes a huge difference in taste and texture. The standout for me was the special shumai topped with sticky rice — the wrapper was thin and delicate, while the filling was incredibly savory with a generous layer of fragrant glutinous rice on top. It was juicy, packed with flavor, and felt like a nostalgic twist on the classic. We also loved the bright yellow-skinned dumplings — they looked beautiful and had a lovely bouncy texture with a well-seasoned pork and vegetable filling. The steamed beef meatballs (山竹牛肉球) were plump, springy, and full of fresh beef flavor with crunchy water chestnuts and herbs — exactly how they should be. Next to them were the fluffy plain steamed buns (plain and filled versions), which were soft, slightly sweet, and perfect for soaking up the sauces. The cheong fun (rice noodle rolls) were silky smooth and glossy, served with a rich soy-based sauce that clung beautifully to every bite. We also tried the claypot rice with minced pork, mushrooms, and preserved ingredients — the rice was perfectly cooked with that slight crispy bottom, and the toppings were flavorful and comforting, especially with a drizzle of the dark soy sauce on the side. Other highlights included the deep-fried beancurd skin rolls (or similar fried items) that were crispy on the outside yet soft inside, and the overall variety on the menu felt generous without being overwhelming. Portions were satisfying, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and freshness — definitely better value than many of the big chain dim sum restaurants. The restaurant itself is straightforward and no-frills, with a clean, simple interior that focuses on the food. Service was efficient and friendly, even during a busy period. It's conveniently located just a short walk from Fortress Hill MTR Station (Exit A), making it easy to drop by for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, or even an early dinner (they open early and close at 9pm). If you're craving real, fresh, handmade dim sum without the long queues or tourist prices, 滋味點 is highly recommended. The emphasis on immediate steaming really shows in every basket — everything tasted vibrant, juicy, and full of authentic flavors. We left very satisfied and are already planning our next visit to try more items from their menu. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike who appreciate proper Hong Kong dim sum done right. 5 stars without hesitation!
The food is very fresh and tasty. It also comes with reasonable price and portion. Also the restaurant is very clean! (Which is very hard to find in HK to be honest) and the staffs are super helpful and nice! I highly recommend this place!
