Back to Hong Kong after a 3-week birthday trip to Batam, Indonesia plus Samoa, an island country in Polynesia🇮🇩🇼🇸, followed by a birthday treat with several pretties👭👭🎂🍽️🥂🎉💕 Hong Kong experienced torrential rains that day, with the Observatory issuing 2 Black Rainstorm Warnings in the afternoon and evening. We were incredibly lucky that the scheduled dinner was completely unaffected. We neither needed umbrellas nor got wet⛈️😱🙏 The restaurant's name Bochord, means "library" or "book collection" based on ancient English etymology. The interior design is therefore decorated as an European noble study room filled with elegant and artistic furniture📚📚📚 Floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic views of Victoria Harbour🌃🌉😊 Besides amazing culinary experience, Bochord also features live band performances every night, making it an ideal venue for dates, birthday celebrations, or wedding anniversaries🎹🎸🎤👫🎂💍🥳 Guess what? I heard the "Happy Birthday" song at least 10 times that night🎼🎂😂
This is a place to indulge in where it serves fancy menus and provides splendid views inside a library-themed dining hall. We had probably the best puff pastry lobster bisque I've tasted so far: rich velvety soup loaded with pieces of lobster, steaming hot, very flaky buttery golden pastry, freshly whipped cream on the side. Crispy Spanish sourdough bread paired addictively well with both classic butter with sea salt, and herb butter with sun dried tomato. Free refill of bread was available and of course, we had our share. Tournedos Rossini was immaculate seared foie gras on top of juicy prime beef tenderloin and deep fried potato crisps, even the broccolini was very delicious in the beef demi glacé. Threadfin fillet was dry aged for 72 hrs and panfried to extremely crunchy, with snow crab and lobster risotto on the side, enjoy a spoonful of seafood with elegance.
An exceptional dining experience at Bochord. We ordered the 4-course lunch set and every single dish was a 10/10. The Beef Tartare and 12-hour slow-cooked abalone were perfect starters, followed by a rich, flavorful Lobster Bisque. Both mains—the Spanish Lamb Ribeye and the Three Yellow Chicken with Foie Gras—were cooked to perfection, showcasing incredible technique and high-quality ingredients. The service was impeccable and the library-themed decor added to the upscale vibe. A must-visit in Causeway Bay for any food lover.
Stunning French fine dining in Causeway Bay with Victoria Harbour views and live band. The library-themed decor feels elegant and romantic — perfect for dates or anniversaries. Highlights: · Canadian Salmon Tartare (fresh & light) · Lobster Bisque with crispy puff pastry · Australian M5 Wagyu Ribeye (perfect medium rare) · Classic Duck Confit (crispy skin, juicy inside) · Tiramisu to finish Book a window seat for the full experience. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I visited this fine dining restaurant for a birthday celebration. The presentation of the food was exquisite, showcasing the chef's artistry and attention to detail. Our server was attentive, making us feel well taken care of throughout the evening. The live music created a wonderful atmosphere, adding to the festive spirit of the occasion. I must mention that you might hear a few cheerful renditions of "Happy Birthday" throughout the night, but it only contributed to the joyful ambiance. This restaurant is an ideal choice for date nights or any special celebration. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to indulge in a memorable dining experience!
